SCCI Radio And Telecommunications Systems

Transmission Agency of Northern California (TANC), a joint powers agency that worked in partnership to finance and construct the Harold T. Johnson Intertie, also known as the California Oregon Transmission Project (COTP) – added 1600 MW (at 500-kilovolts) of transmission capability between the Pacific Northwest and California. The telecommunications aspect of the project, completed in late 1992, consisted of 34 microwave sites, three optical terminals, with SCADA, telephony, 56-kb power control, and network infrastructure.
